yes. I also use rsi,8 provides about the same reading, over at stockcharts.com, one of the public chartist (above the green line) has set up some rules. GDX sector strength is low for her rules, and I have not found indicator here that replicates sector strength, but i do like it has moved above its 100 ma, it has not move above the 10ma however. The rsi 8 helps with the false jump on the stoch,5,1,3.. look at 2013-06-07 on GDX chart, the stoch started to move up, but pulled back without rise in price, the rsi 8 would have keep you out as it was still coming down.

Macd just started to roll, however in agreement with where you think this will go. I use Stoch 5,1,3 on some charts, and when it breaks up above the 20 we should see the move up happen (its close). Nice analysis.
