I'd like to use an alternative email address for alert notifications

You can use Email-to-SMS feature if you'd like your alert notifications to be delivered to an alternative email address. Simply check the Send Email-to-SMS box in the alert settings dialog and specify an email address that you'd like to use. We've introduced this feature to deliver email notifications to your cell phone number through your local cell phone carrier (many of them support this service). What this means for you is that you receive such alert notifications via SMS, but the entire process is identical to receiving alert notifications via email.
