What is Total Equity?

Total Equity is what’s left after subtracting total liabilities from total assets. It represents the amount that belongs to the joint-stock company. It includes Shareholders' Equity and Accumulated Minority Interest - Total.

Why is Total Equity important?

Total Equity is important because it represents the value of the investor's share in the securities or company. Investors who own shares in a company are usually interested in the equity of the company represented by their shares.
